ANGAR PAYS HOMAGE TO TAGORE

It is enthralling experience when the domain of coal prizes culture in its soul.

Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore, who is embedded in our existence, is being cultivated with a special zeal during this ongoing year preceding his century and a half. ANGAR draws inspiration from the great personality in the fields of preaching peace and fraternity through cultural activities. The manifest faith of Tagore that the exercise of aesthetics can exorcise smallness from our life is a motto followed by ANGAR.

Amid an array of frequent cultural occasions, the crowning event has been the Rabindrasangeet recital by Rezwana Chowdhury ‘Bannya’ at Mayuri Auditorium on 26th November 2010. It was a milestone in our continual discovery of Tagore and a juncture to cherish and treasure.

ANGAR takes humble delight in its endeavour to have shared the elevating experience with all sections of people from entire Ranchi and even beyond. The tastefully bedecked hall brimmed over with reverent spectators rapt in silent expectation.
Bannya is a foremost torchbearer of Tagore songs today, and has the distinction of intense training under the legendary Kanika Bandopadhyay in Santiniketan. The audience that evening was drenched in melody that carried a veritable message of profound faith in the beauty of this world, the harmony of human relations and the quantum of solace Nature can offer. The message Tagore wished to convey through his music was well transmitted.

debabrata biswas, the great exponent and passionate interpreter of Rabindrasangeet,is passing through his centenary this year.ANGAR paid tribute to him on this evening.

Before the main presentation, ANGAR enthusiasts paid homage to Tagore through a group song and a solo dance.

At closure, Amal Kumar Debnath, the prime mover of ANGAR, thanked everybody for the memorable evening.
